Our designs are highly influenced by the coastal shores all the way from our backyard in the land down under, Australia, to across the globe along the Mediterranean Sea.

We hand collect specific Shells along The Coastline of Victoria, following the Great Ocean Road from the hidden paradise 13th beach up towards the surf city of Warrnambool.

We care about the biodiversity of our land and its ecosystems which is why we have specific collection practices in place to conserve our land and its marine life.
We source our entire variety of Conch shells from the Meditarian shores of the Turkish Coastline, also known as the Torquoise Coast, where there is an excess amount of these particular carapaces.
Our partners in Fethiye, Muğla are a small family business operating out of their family home, collecting shells using our sustainable practices along the border of the Mediterranean and the Aegean seas.

We Collect and Source with specific creative pieces in mind, taking only what we need for custom designs. We are a slow production business specialising in handmade items, there is simply no need for bulk production and consumption

We do not take living organisms out of their habitat when shell collecting. We ensure our shells are uninhabited through thorough inspection

Our Echinoderm Organisms and by-products have been harvested in areas under strict regulation in Australia. Harvesting occurs only from permitted zones and harvesting ceases on any reef areas that need time to recover and regenerate

SHELLS AND BY-PRODUCTS TO DECOMPOSE
Rates of decomposition vary, however, Sea Shells left to dry out on the sand bank that aren't fit to inhabit end up disintegrating at varying levels and are eventually crushed and ground back into the sand. Sand is formed from an abundance of multiple mineral sources such as crushed rock- Quartz Rock in particular, Natural Glass, Coral and Shells

Our Freshwater Pearls
About Pearls
Pearls are organic gems that grow within Oysters, Clams and other Mollusks. Pearls are formed when a foreign object acts as an irritant inside the shell, the bivalve protects itself from this foreign body by secreting layers of nacre around it, over time forming a pearl which is then extracted carefully from the oyster. This is a delicate process that requires skill and precision in order to avoid causing damage to the bivalve taking centuries to perfect.
Once the pearl is removed, it is cleaned, sorted, and graded for quality.

Freshwater pearls are typically smaller than saltwater pearls and are prized for their beauty and lustre while commonly being recognised for their durability, varied colour-way, and being asymmetrical in shape.
We choose to use freshwater pearls due these particular characteristics which is why you may find our pearls are a natural warm milky colour rather than a traditional stark white.

Our freshwater pearls are sourced from Western Australia, Australia being one of the most sustainable pearl farming industry in the world.
HOW DO YOU KNOW IF A PEARL IS REAL?
The easiest way is the good old fashioned way, glide the Pearl over your teeth. If it feels gritty it is real, if it feels smooth then what you have is an artifical Pearl.
ARE PEARLS VEGAN?
No, pearls are not vegan as they are derived from bivalve molluscs known as Oysters a living marine creature. However, though extensive research and studies it has been proven that Oysters do not have a central nervous system therefor are not sentient beings, meaning they are not capable of feeling pain or suffering.WHAT ARE THE POSITIVES TO PEARL HARVESTING?
Pearl Farming Diversifies the Local Industry Pearl farming creates jobs. The different uses for the by-products of pearls through farming means that local communities are able to create and keep jobs surrounding pearl cultivation, this also means these communities need to fish less which reduces the danger of overfishing.
Oyster farms help to improve water quality, while oysters and mussels need a certain level of cleanliness in their water to survive, they can also contribute as a key factor in purifying the water and increasing over-all water quality.
Their water filtering mechanisms such as; filtering algae, nutrients and suspended matter from the sea water also help to improve the quality of habitats for other marine animals such as octopuses, crabs, fish, sea snails and sponges.
